Tim Draper, Founder and a Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, is one of the most successful early-stage venture capitalists of the past 20 years. His original suggestion to use “viral marketing” in web-based e-mail to geometrically spread an Internet product to its market was instrumental to the successes of Hotmail and YahooMail, and has been adopted as a standard marketing technique to hundreds of businesses. Mr. Draper’s previous investments include Skype (EBAY), Overture.com (YHOO), Baidu (BIDU), Parametric Technology (PMTC), Hotmail (MSFT), PLX Technologies (PLXT), Preview Travel (TVLY) and Digidesign (AVID), among others. Prior to founding Draper Associates (now Draper Fisher Jurvetson), Mr. Draper worked as a Marketing Engineer for Hewlett-Packard, an Assistant to the President of Apollo Computer, and an associate in high technology corporate finance with Alex. Brown & Sons.

Mr. Draper holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
